Type of services provided

In the quest to establish a single market, the harmonisation of standards and technical regulations and the corresponding assessment of conformity play a vital role to ensure the free movement of goods and services. In the Caribbean, the CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards and Quality (CROSQ) was created in 2002 as “the regional centre for promoting efficiency and competitive production in goods and services, through the process of standardisation and the verification of quality.”

The main objective of this project is to assist CROSQ in developing a training programme covering all quality infrastructure fields (standardisation, quality assurance, accreditation, metrology, etc.). This comprises the following activities:

  • Training Needs Analysis among key quality infrastructure stakeholders and private sector operators in all CROSQ member states;
  • Situational Analysis with respect to current portfolio of training services;
  • Design of Training Programme Including Definition of Components;
  • Development of Strategies for Implementing the Proposed Training Programme;
  • Final validation workshop.
  • Training needs analysis:
    • Desk research;
    • Questionnaire based interviews;
    • Field visits.
  • Development of training programme and implementation strategy.
  • Reporting.
